We’ve got big things coming and we’re always on the grind…
We’ve put together a little taster of what we’ve got planned for the early part of 2010 – including the re-release of J’s album “Young Love” with eight remixes and a brand new track… Erakah’s new single… and our new artist…
Keep it locked here for updates!
Scottie Pimpin’ – promoter extraordinaire – took us from the airport after the bag-search-fiasco and off to the hotel. We settled in (discovered the pool xD) and then headed off to soundcheck. J managed to injure one of the club owners while trying to maneuver on the small stage platform (sorry Hollie!) – didn’t catch that one on camera though xD.
After soundcheck the entire Illegal crew began the trek back to the hotel and stopped in for chinese at a local restaurant. The food was great and the crew deMOLISHed a healthy helping of mean cuisine…
After that it was every man for himself – members of the crew split off to catch up with friends, roam the town or sleep (most of us either hadn’t slept or had only caught a few hours the night before). We caught up outside the hotel before the gig was due to start and mingled with old friends (like ATP from BeatKamp Muzik and Rhann) before the night really kicked off…
Footage from the gig coming in part three!
Brisbane was awesome – great weather and mad crowds all round!
Here’s the first clip from our trip. We arrived in the morning and were pulled aside by customs who searched our bags and questioned us about what we were up to. Hard Work told them we were in Brisbane to bring the Magic, baby! so they let us go ; ).
(During the opening part of the video we were filming in the baggage collection area – a security guard came over to advise us there was a $1000 fine for filming there… we decided to shut the camera off… xD)
Here are the Behind the Scenes for J Williams’ “Ghetto Flower”, shot by the boys from Pixelati. Watch J getting ready, working out, busting it a cappella and get a little glimpse of the hard work that goes into making a music video!
Thanks to Ivan and the Independent Film Company of New Zealand crew for the mean job on the Ghetto Flower video!
